Candidate Term Candidate Term at B-12 is a process which every member must go through in order to become a Pershing Rifleman, and which has to be experienced to be truly understood. The purpose of Candidate Term is to take a relatively inexperienced cadet and turn him or her into a competent and confident leader who will excel as an officer in the US Military. |

Operation STEADFAST LIGHTNING Each Candidate Term, B-12 plans and runs a major field exercise known as Operation STEADFAST LIGHTNING, which is the culmination of all B-12 training for the year. The event gives each candidate a taste of what it's like to undertake a complex operation, and gives B-12 members experience in planning and running such an operation from the cadre side. |

Field Exercises In order to give members and candidates the most realistic and complete experience possible, B-12 runs a number of field exercises throughout the school year, during which members and candidates are able to train and refresh on the skill sets outlined on the Candidate Term page.
